Watch
To the right we have the channel list. To play a channel just double click at it, and if you want to add it to your favorites just right click it and select Add to favorites, you can also visit its homepage.
Browse
To view your favorites or to select another country click on the country list.
Search
If you want to search for a channel then select the country you want to search in and press Search in the search menu and enter a search string. And press Find next (F3) if you want to find the next channel that matches the search result.
Update
To get the newest list over channels select Update channel list from the File menu, do this once a week to keep it updated. Please don't hog the servers by pressing it many times per day!
Configure
In the settings window you can choose between two different GUI modes, one where the channel list is hideable and one where its resizeable, experiment with this to find the one you like best. You can also choose to use a different version of Windows Media Player, try this only if you have a problem.
How to use the online database
This version of the program now comes with a user contributed online database, I left the users in totally control this time. And with control comes responsibility, so please read carefully below how to use this service!
Rating
If you like a channel then please remeber to give it a good rating so others can easly find the channels that are worth watching. Please give ratings to all channels so the good ones will stick out.
Flagging
Remember to flag a channel only if you disagree with the flag it already has
Flag a channel as "Works fine" if there is no trouble playing it and the information about it is correct.
Flag a channel as "Not working" if the stream doesn't work at all, but first please check that it isn't just a problem with your computer or connection. And don't flag a channel as not working if you have a problem with it's audio, this is in most cases a problem with your installed codecs.
Flag a channel as "Wrong info" if it plays alright but the information about it is wrong; the name, description or country.
Flag a channel as "Duplicate" if it's the exact same channel listed twice, but it might be ok keeping them if there is one with a high bitrate and one with a low bitrate.
Flag a channel as "Spam" if you suspect somebody has submitted it just to ruin the database or if it's an uappropriate channel like porn or violence.
And please remember that when a channel is marked as "New" it means that the channel was newly added to the database and should be reviewed. So please test it and see if it works, then use the appropriate flag to flag it!
Submit channel
Press the "Submit" button to submit a new channel to the database, this channel will then be available for everyone at once. But please carefully read the rules below before using this feature! And if you want to submit a channel to a country that isn't in the list then please send me an email and I'll add the country and channel as soon as possible.
1. Please don't submit channels if they're already found in the list! If you want to submit a new channel that already is in the list because it doesn't work then use the UPDATE feature (rigt click and select update).
2. Always test if the stream URL is working inside this program before you submit it! And please don't just submit links to webpages where you can watch the channel; the channel has to work from within this program!
3. Don't submit porn channels or other inappropriate content! (only subscribers can do this)
4. Submit ONLY TV CHANNELS, I will make another program for radio and I wont tolerate any radio stations in the list!
5. Please write a short and informative comment about the channel or just leave it blank.
6. Please select the most appropriate category for the channel.
7. Don't submit boring webcam streams...
If you fail to comply with any of these rules I will block you from submitting more channels!
Update channel
Right click on a channel and press "Update channel" to change the details about a channel if it's wrong or if you want update a channel that is not working with a new stream address. A good idea is to make sure all channels is in the right category. All updates will be reviewed by a moderator before submitted. Please use the update feature if you want to fix channels that doesn't work instead of submitting a duplicate of it!
Filter channel list
Press the "Filter" button to configure which channels is shown in the list. If you don't want to view all the new unflagged channels then uncheck "new". A good idea might be to uncheck "not working" and "spam" from the list to get the best experience while using the program.
Misc
Using portable mode
If you want to use this program on a USB stick then start it with the /portable parameter and its files will not be stored in the appdata-folder anymore. Or place a file called "portable.txt" in the same directory.
